Mission statement.

We experiment with the thought and possibility of regarding Erlangen as a big city.

The Big City Institute was founded in 2016 to develop theories and investigate opportunities in the context of aesthetics, commerce and culture, and more generally to address the question of metropolitan Erlangen in a visionary approach. For this purpose, we critically build ideas, conduct and present focused, basic and applied research, evaluate practice on location, advocate human rights, encourage the gathering of individuals, perceive, interpret, comment and support happenings, pursue happiness, and promote understanding.

We just want (more) good events and parties here.
